What is it? The shape of the amplitude of a signal over time. Attack refers to the beginning of a sound the first part of an amplitude envelope. Decay refers to the part of an amplitude envelope between the maximum volume of the attack and sustain. Sustain means the part at which the sound maintains a consistent volume.
